ClawHost Index Weekly #1: Hetzner fix, RackNerd back, 29 of 31 verified

Issue #1 · sent 19 Oct 2026 · archive copy of the email

Hi,

This is the first weekly email from ClawHost Index. The site went live on 16 October and the list is still small, so thanks for being an early reader.

On 19 October I checked every plan against the provider's own page. Here's what changed.

Hetzner

The CX22 is gone. Its replacement, the CX23 (2 vCPU, 4 GB, 40 GB NVMe), is about £5.05/mo (€5.99 ex VAT). My old listing used a third-party figure of about £2.62 ($3.49) from March. That was out of date. It's now fixed and verified. One catch: on 19 October Hetzner showed every cost-optimised plan, CX23 included, as "currently unavailable".

RackNerd

The 4 GB plan (about £3.75/mo, $59.99/yr, 3 vCPU, 60 GB) and the 8 GB plan (about £7.50/mo, $119.99/yr, 7 vCPU, 150 GB) are back on RackNerd's specials page, so both are verified. Both are paid yearly.

Everything else

Akamai (Linode) Shared 4 GB is confirmed on Akamai's own pricing page at about £18/mo ($24). UpCloud prices are unchanged, but their new Starter plans have replaced the old Developer plans. Prices didn't move at any of the other hosts I track.

29 of 31 plans are now verified, up from 25. Kamatera (a calculator estimate) and Oracle Cloud Always Free (specs not confirmed) are still unverified. No new plans this week. GBP figures use ECB rates from 16 October.

Pick of the week

Contabo Cloud VPS 4: 4 vCPU, 8 GB RAM, 100 GB, about £3.71/mo (€4.40 ex VAT) for the first 24 months, with a one-click OpenClaw install. Treat this as a rough guide: 8 GB is what I'd go for if you want browser automation or to build Docker images on the server. It's an estimate, not a benchmark. The price is ex VAT, so UK buyers pay more, and check what it goes up to after the promo. If 4 GB is enough, the cheapest verified option is still OVHcloud VPS-1 at about £3.40/mo.

If a host or plan is missing or wrong, reply and tell me. The full table is at https://clawhostindex.com.

Some links on the site are affiliate links, and they're clearly marked. At the moment the only one is InterServer. It doesn't change the order, which is by price. There are no affiliate links in this email.
